About Me

Gillian is the founding member of Gillian Garrett Law, PC. She advises and represents alcohol beverage industry clients (producer, importer, wholesaler and retailer) on California and federal alcohol law. Her practice areas include litigation, including protests accusations and regulatory representation; trade practices and compliance; internal investigations; training; marketing, promotions and events; distribution relationships and commercial transactions.  Gillian represents clients in mediation and arbitration and before the California ABC, the California ABC Appeals Board and the TTB. 

Gillian is a seasoned trial lawyer with 20 years of experience. She practices throughout California and has successfully represented hundreds of clients. 

Prior to founding Gillian Garrett Law, PC, Gillian was a senior counsel at Hinman & Carmichael, LLP in San Francisco, where she specialized in alcohol law. Before then, Gillian was a litigation associate with the international law firm, Jones Day, in Palo Alto, California, where she focused on commercial litigation, internal investigations and products liability.  Prior to that, Gillian was a litigation associate at the international law firm, Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP, in Los Angeles, California, where she worked on a variety of complex business litigation matters, including class actions, internal investigations, unfair competition, First Amendment and employment. 

Ms. Garrett graduated from Pomona College in 1998 with honors.  She graduated from U.C. Berkeley Law School (formerly Boalt Hall) in 2002.  She is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in California.
